A fun interactive class to introduce children to yoga and mindfulness through world adventure, animal postures and more!.
There is now a body of evidence which shows that yoga can be very positive for children and affects their whole being. Children who practice yoga:
- grow the ability to manage their emotions
- are able to relax and sleep better
- improve concentration and focus
- develop stronger and healthier bodies
- have a foundation for lifelong well-being
Sophie is a qualified primary school teacher and yoga teacher who has trained extensively to teach kids’ yoga (and to train teachers, see below). She intertwines her knowledge and experience in education with the yoga practice to inspire children’s love of the world around them and to build self awareness in a fun and child-centred way.
The classes are suitable for children aged 4 to 9 years.
Parents please note that they are welcome to wait in the cafe downstairs at Sherwood Community Centre. The lobby outside the yoga room is reserved for office users.

want to become a kids’ yoga teacher yourself?
Sophie runs regular training courses at The Yoga Village, for people who wish to become kids’ yoga teachers themselves. You may be a school teacher, a yoga teacher wishing to specialise, a parent yourself, or just interested! The next date for the four day course is 4th-7th July 2019. The course leads to qualification as a kids’ yoga teacher, and is run in conjunction with YogaBeez. Contact us or email@example.com for more information.
