Kids Yoga

Thursday classes for kids:

preschooler yoga (age 3 to 5) 3.15-4pm

kids' yoga (age 5 to 9) 4.15 to 5pm

and tweens' yoga (age 10 to 12) 5.15-6pm

all at Sherwood Community Centre, with Sophie Bee

20 pounds for four consecutive weeks (7 pounds drop in). 

A fun and interactive experience to introduce children to yoga and mindfulness including through world adventure, animal postures and more for the younger ones and a development of classic techniques for the older group.  

*parents please note that access to our studio is via a staircase.

There is now a body of evidence which shows that yoga can be very positive for children and affects their whole being.  Children who practice yoga:

  • Grow the ability to manage their emotions
  • Have an awareness of their breathing
  • Are able to relax and sleep better
  • Improve concentration and focus
  • Develop strong and healthy bodies
  • have a foundation for lifelong well-being

 Sophie is a qualified and practising primary school teacher trained in kids' yoga (YogaBeez, accredited Yoga Alliance).  She intertwines her knowledge and experience in education into the yoga practice to educate children about the world around them in a fun and child-centred way.

The classes are suitable for children aged 3 to 12 (see above list of different classes). 

Parents please note that they are welcome to wait in the cafe downstairs at Sherwood Community Centre.  The lobby outside the yoga room is reserved for office users.
